Sure, it’s a reference to the 1987 theme song to Dirty Dancing, but it’s also a vital civic question… What are we doing to create the “times of our lives” here in Bothell? What are you getting? Doing? Giving? Is it sustainable? This Civic Saturday amplifies the findings of Our Common Purpose, focused on civic bridge building. Let’s talk about civic engagement grounded in values for the long haul.
As always, Civic Saturday is free and open to all. You are welcome to invite a friend. It's a place to come together as a community, to gather and rededicate ourselves to being active citizens. It’s a civic gathering designed to nurture a spirit of shared purpose with readings, live music, and thought-provoking conversation.
Content in this series is grounded in definitions of civic health, civic infrastructure, and civic action, with discussion and questions localized for the Bothell audience. Come ready to listen, sing, think, talk, and feel more connected. Like all Civic Saturdays, these gatherings are secular and nonpartisan.
